Terms of Service
These terms cover your use of Caradence. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
The service
Caradence is a web application at app.caradence.org for coordinating non-clinical care logistics — medications, meals, exercises, events, notes, and routines — across the members of a household.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter into a contract to use Caradence. By using the service you confirm that you meet these requirements.
Your account
- You're responsible for keeping your credentials secret. Don't share your password.
- You're responsible for activity under your account, including by household members you invite.
- Notify us at hello@caradence.org if you believe your account has been compromised.
Your content
You retain ownership of the data, photos, and notes you put into Caradence ("your content"). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, and display your content solely to operate the service for you and the household members you invite. We do not use your content to train AI models.
Acceptable use
Don't:
- Use Caradence for any illegal purpose or to violate anyone's rights.
- Attempt to access another household's data.
- Probe or test the service's security without our written permission.
- Use automation to abuse the service or to circumvent rate limits and quotas.
- Upload content you don't have the right to use, or that contains malware.
Not medical advice
Caradence is a logistics tool. It is not a medical device and provides no diagnostic, treatment, or clinical advice. AI-generated suggestions in Caradence are informational only and may be wrong. Always confirm any medical, medication, dietary, or therapy decision with a qualified healthcare professional before acting on it. We are not responsible for the consequences of acting on information shown in the app.
Not for emergencies. If someone in your care is in distress, call 911 (or your local emergency number). Do not use Caradence for emergency communication or escalation.
AI features
AI features are optional. When you enable them, your prompts are sent to the AI provider you choose. We do not control or guarantee the accuracy of AI output. You are responsible for reviewing AI suggestions before applying them — every Caradence AI workflow surfaces a confirmation step for exactly this reason. We may impose reasonable rate limits.
Beta service
Caradence is currently in beta. Features may change without notice, there may be bugs, and we may pause or end the beta. The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We disclaim all warranties to the maximum extent permitted by law, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We will give reasonable notice before any major change to availability or feature set.
Pricing
The beta is free. When paid plans launch, we'll give existing users notice before any charge, and beta users will receive a permanent discount.
Termination
You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that we reasonably believe are being used for fraud or illegal purposes.
On termination — by you or by us — your data is removed from the service, unless we're required to retain something by law. Until you choose to delete, your data stays in Caradence indefinitely: there is no automatic time limit on how long we keep your records. We recommend exporting your data from Settings periodically so you have your own copy.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Caradence and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or $50 USD if you paid nothing).
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Caradence and its operators harmless from claims arising out of your use of the service in violation of these terms or applicable law, including claims from household members you invite.
Changes to these terms
We'll update this page when terms change and bump the "Last updated" date. For significant changes we'll notify you by email or in-app before they take effect. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Caradence is operated, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts located in that jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction provides otherwise.
